What we collect, and what we never do.

What we collect

• Addresses you look up. Needed to run the FEMA zone lookup. We store the address, the zone result, and when it was checked so we can serve cached results and show the "data as of" date.
• Your email address — only if you give it to us (the "send me the breakdown" box, or checkout). Used to deliver your result/report, receipts, and follow-up guidance about flood zones.
• Purchase records. Order ID, product, amount, and a download token. Payment details go to our payment processor (Stripe) — we never see or store your card number.
• Basic technical logs (IP address, request times) for rate-limiting the free lookup and abuse prevention. Free lookups are IP-rate-limited to keep FEMA's public service fair for everyone.

What we never do

• We never sell your email, your addresses, or any personal data.
• We never share your lookup history with advertisers or data brokers.
• We never send marketing email without a way out — every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and we keep a do-not-mail suppression for your address on FloodLens.

Email & unsubscribe

Every email FloodLens sends — free-result delivery, follow-ups, receipts — carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Clicking it stops all FloodLens email to that address immediately. You can also unsubscribe any time at our unsubscribe page, no login required.

Data retention

Lookup records are kept to power caching and your re-downloads. Email subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe. Purchase records are kept as required for tax and accounting.

Your rights

Email info@mehyar.us to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it (we'll keep only what the law requires us to keep, like tax records).

Children

FloodLens is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
